The Batman of Earth -22 was born from the nightmares of the Dark Multiverse. At first, he was a lot like the Batman we know. On Earth -22, however, he gets sick when nanotoxins from The Joker's heart get into his bloodstream. This causes the perfect mind of the Dark Knight to merge with the twisted mind of the Clown Prince of Crime. Soon, he changes into his final form, The Batman Who Laughs, and joins an effort to make the whole Multiverse violent, chaotic, and completely dark.
